When we were in school some of our classmates would give up a hard prison term memorising spellings, and the teachers would invariably lose exertion with them. These poor kids would be branded dumb or work-shy and the teachers would be on their case all the time. Not for a second did it strike them that the infuriating students might have been genuinely trying their best and may have been suffering from erudition difficulty beyond their control; no one bring in that they deserved sympathy and attention sort of than punishment.
