Chronic Wasting infirmity Mississippi Update

XTENSIVE CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE (CWD) management was conducted for the first time in the Southeast this past year. fit to the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study at the University of Georgia, samples from 19,103 tempestuous deer and elk were collected for CWD testing by wildlife agencies from 16 states (AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, OK, NC, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV). The number of animals tested from individual states ranged from around 100 to all over 6,000, with most states testing 500 to 1,000 animals. Evidence of CWD was not detect in any of the samples.
