Fast Food Restaurants

At Taco Bell, individually assembly line of employees reads customers set ups from a computer screen. At Burger King, the fodder preparation atomic number 18a is difficult to fulfill. However, beca social occasion it takes several minutes for orders to be ready for pick-up, I assume the sustenance is being fain to order. At Baja Fresh, all of the nourishment is made to order. Nothing is vigilant in advance and the restaurant chain states that it does non delectation heat lamps, steam t competents, or microwave ovens in its intellectual nourishment preparation process. Of the five restaurants, Baja Fresh took the longest by removed to serve the food.

At Taco Bell, I saw no active food in storage areas. At MacDonald's, food is prepackaged and waiting to be purchased. I was unable to see if Wendy's stored basic finished goods for fast delivery. It appears that Burger King does not use food storage bins to h superannuated unsold pre-made food. Baja Fresh does not use any prepared food storage bins. The food preparation area is easily seen from the counter where the food is prepared to order.

At each of the five restaurants, I logical unity special order item. All five restaurants were willing to restrain my request. At Taco Bell, I requested a burrito without onions. At each of the burger restaurants, I requested my burger without ketchup. At Baja Fresh, I ordered nachos without sour cream. The only restaurant that a special order created any problem was at MacDonald's. At MacDonald's, I was asked to mistreat to the side while my special order was bein

Standard food preparation protocol at MacDonald's.

In terms of food quality, I was not able to differentiate between the three burger restaurants. In an effort to deliver the goods back lost market share, Burger King has revived an old ad campaign slogan in which the company promises that customers preserve "Have It Their Way" at Burger King. The company recognizes that customized orders are to a greater extent time consuming and more expensive to prepare simply it is convinced that customized orders is one way for Burger King to differentiate itself from MacDonald's (MacArthur, 2004).

intravenous feeding of the five restaurants offered salad options. Taco Bell did not have this bill of fare option. MacDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King offered a prepackaged salad with a choice of dressings on the side. Only Baja Fresh offered what appeared to be a salad that was not antecedently packaged.

As mentioned above, Wendy's and MacDonald's do prepare food ahead of time. I remember that during tip periods, such as during the lunch rush, these restaurants are likely to be cooking as many burgers at one time as their grills can hold. I believe that at Burger King, where the burgers are flame broiled, the broiler heat is turned up allowing employees to speed up the conveyor belt. I do not believe Taco Bell's cooking methods change from slow to aggrandizement periods. Instead, during peak periods Taco Bell adds more employees to handle the peak in demand. The same method of addressing demand was in inference at Baja Fresh.

In terms of speed, MacDonald's was the fastest at delivering products ordered, followed in order by Wendy's, Taco Bell, and Burger King. Bringing up the gear up with the slowest delivery at Baja Fresh. Although not a scientific analysis, one might conclude that Americans are
