Predestination and Fatalism

A cosmos in the position described by the title above may quarrel with the doctrine of foreknowledge because he feels it causes him to habitually guess Gods will. And in so doing, he becomes so discouraged at the prospect of fighting a losing battle to Gods irresistible will for a mixture of triumph and defeat in the lives of Christians, that he doesnt risk the effort of resisting a persistent temptation, or he shrinks back from the taunt of an viscid situation where he has a chance to evangelize. He therefore makes the irrefutable conclusion that it must have been Gods will. It doesnt take Sigmund Freud to proclaim you that nonhing makes the same failure on the next creator more certain than this type of thinking. So, my task in this compose is to undo such thinking.

If you contend that predestination is a mystery viewed exactly right only by God, therefore why do you try to use your own lead astray concept of it to (poorly) divine which acts of obedience are safe bets? If you come upon difficulty in bearing up under the freight of your own simple responsibility to obey, why crush yourself by managing, in addition, the high responsibility of God?




And thats the problem with the usual view of predestination; people dont fully perceive what it real is and means--and, alternatly, what it is not and does not mean. And, more to the point, they dont realize that their understanding is imperfect. So, they opine a false view of forordainance, and find fault in it. Because of this, the doctrine is labeled fatalistic (and therefore not true), and not merely the mans thinking.
